Forest Discovery Centre - forestry is traditionally British Columbia's main industry. Go a little further north and visit the town of Chemainus, famous for its outdoor murals, and home to a popular small theatre. In Crofton you can tour the pulp mill in summer time and take a short ferry trip to Saltspring Island, the largest of the Gulf Islands, which are located between mainland B.C. and Vancouver Island. Travel to Lake Cowichan and take the logging road to Port Renfrew to visit the Botanical Beach there and get a taste of the West Coast.
